Myka 9 is definetly one of LA’s dopest and most skilled mc’s. He can change up the tempo with ease, rhyming fast or slow, and shows his ability to change up styles. He became one of the most known mc’s from project blowed because his great talent, ability to rock the crowd at live shows, and experimenting with different music styles. In his earlier works his beats were mainly influenced with jazz, and for the past few years I’ve seen him rocking the mic at drum & bass shows. Also, he is very humble, I remember him offering me to smoke a blunt before a show.
Myka is amazing! One of very few MC’s that can truly freestyle from the top of the head with style and speed…not like the obvious pre-mediated garbage alot of MCs pass off as “freestyle.” It’s amazing to realize he’s been rhyming the way he has 20 years ago!
Myka Nyne is practically second to none. I hope I get one of them prizes. Mad props on 1969 Myka!
