FSITO

http://www.fightsmackintheorphanage.org/

In 1973, feminist writer/child advocate Gloria Grey published her seminal best-seller We Are A Gentle Angry People: The Rise of Orphan Smack Addiction in the Latter Half of the Twentieth Century. Though it was often filled with inaccuracies, misconceptions, factual errors, and plagiarized portions of unpublished Jacqueline Suzanne novels, it managed to catch of eye of community leader, Marion Barry – the godfather of the anti-Smack movement of the early 70s.

Though unlikely partners, Gray and Barry joined forces to lay the groundwork of what was to become Fight Smack in the Orphanage (FSITO) by organizing the first citywide “Smack-down” in Los Angeles in 1974. Later that year, with help from several government grants and the proceeds of Ms. Gray’s lucrative mail order macramé business, they opened the first FSITO Rehabilitation Center on Crenshaw Boulevard in L.A.

Over the next thirty years, more than one-hundred FSITO Centers opened their doors in locations all across the United States and Guam. These centers are no longer just places that kids can get clean, but symbols of hope that inspire the entire community. Some also offer Pilates.

Sadly, the battle is not over. There are still thousands of Smack-addicted orphans on the streets looking for their next fix.

FSITO refuses to give up. We know that with your help and support we can fight Smack and save the orphans.

Alex Jones’ highly anticipated upcoming documentary Fall of the Republic: The Presidency of Barack Obama boldly lifts the lid and unveils the fraud behind Brand Obama and how the globalists are using their newest, and slickest ever puppet to destroy the last vestiges of America’s freedom, Constitution and economy, all while helping the bankers loot the country clean.

The film exposes the agenda that Obama was put in place to accomplish, a world government allied with a bank of the world run by globalist eugenicists hell-bent on destroying America’s first world status and replacing it with a hollow shell of tyranny.

[REC]

We are big fans of the first installment of highly acclaimed Spanish horror [REC] and images of the sequel has us dancing jigs and firing shots in the air. How do you use the first-person perspective formula and make it brand new? Make it a first-person shooter! Gaming geeks might find some of the imagery all too familiar.

Enjoy!

Power, money and blood: these are the “values” that the residents of the province of Naples and Caserta confront every day. They have practically no choice, and are forced to obey the rules of the “System”, the Camorra.
Only a lucky few can even think of leading a “normal” life.

Five stories are woven together in this violent scenario, set in a cruel and ostensibly invented world, but one that is deeply rooted in reality.

SCION presents EASY 10

Founded by Scion in 2007 to support young, emerging filmmakers, Scion Easy 10 gives up-and-coming visual artists a chance to shoot a short film on a topic of their choice. This year, Scion will be switching up the format by selecting ten media outlets to express their creativity through film. Scion allotted each filmmaker three months and a modest budget to transform their idea into a cinematic reality.

Thanks to Scion’s ongoing artistic endeavors, Easy 10 filmmakers have an opportunity to express themselves through a medium many do not normally work in. Their films will be a testament to their hard work and creativity, and pieces of art to be enjoyed by all.

This year’s Easy Ten conjures the clout of ten of your favorite media outlets. Directors from Giant Robot, XLR8R, Vice Magazine and more produce a festival’s worth of short films. Come watch it all hang out at one of our screenings.

Check out website for more trailer, guestlist and more details.

Wow! If you thought Machine Girl was out of control, this one will blow you away. The biggest hype for me was knowing the beautiful Eihi Shiina, from Takashi Miike’s Audition, was the lead role. This film is extremely absurd in every manner and highly entertaining. Can’t wait for the sequel!

This film rocks! This is Takashi Miike’s most commercial release to date and it also happens to be one of his finest. Great performances and classic Miike touches all around. I have trouble with most asian films trying to put out their renditions of “cool” characters, but this film’s turned me into a major fanboy. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself relating to one of the characters or crews and adopting their maneurysms (I personally am working on Genji). Super excited about the sequel on the way!
